BDial is written in C++ and uses RAS and MFC - its definitely Win32 only. Cross platform support is not really an aim with this program,
Linux, for example, has a pon/poff commands and with enough cron jobs you could achieve the same aims as my program.
Of course, it wouldn't look as nice or be as easy to use as BDial :)
I started writing it after signing up for BT Surftime Evenings and Weekends, and had
a pile of scripts that downloaded and synchronized files from web pages. I wanted a dial up connection manager that would connect and disconnect
at specified times (namely, when BT Surftime was free). I had tried out a few dial managers but there was something unsatisfactory about
all of them; they corrupted the Windows phone book entries, misread phone numbers, or just plain didn't work. So in true software engineer fashion I wrote my own.
Check out the screenshots if you like, they should give a picture of how BDial works.
